The exhibition "So Sorry" at Haus der Kunst
the exhibition “so sorry” at the Haus der Kunst contains my work practice from the 1990s until today. It is the most comprehensive and largest scale exhibition I ever had. It includes works that are related to architectural installations, videos, photography and my blog writings: a survey of my actions as an artist trying to find new possibilities in expression and communication through new forms and trying to develop a new language; communicating the idea that the artist is the medium is the message rather than their produced artefacts. In that sense, the internet provides the most important technology developed by human beings in terms of freedom of gathering information and expressing one’s ideas. Exercising your mind on the internet is trying to face reality and at the same time to influence it by the skills of communication and new forms of expression.

to influence reality with the skills of communication…
I remembered your words when I read the newspaper yesterday. How could it be managed that the chinese officials take part at the “Frankfurter Buchmesse” AND some “dissidents” like Dai Quing and Bei Ling can visit Germany at the same time? Why is it so easy for the chinese delegation to say “either – or”?

Alex here, who will be giving tours for the museum in English of this fantastic exhibition in the making at the Haus der Kunst.As a native New Yorker and art historian, I want to imagine that we can take part of the credit for the freedom and genius you embody that is transforming the world today…would you agree? How do you still feel about your New york years… Long gone and forgotten or still part of your daily processs of expression? Can’t wait for the start of this show!!!

der große orangene block ist sehr schön und wirkt sehr weihnachtlich. er errinert an plätzchen und an tee, aber auch an fröhlichkeit und an die weinachtszeit.alles hier ist ein sehr lustiger stil. ich mag kunst und das ist eine art von ihr.
